Simplex LBW Water Cooled Load Bank (50-2500 kW)

The Simplex LBW Water-Cooled Resistive Load Bank is completely quiet, highly compact, and virtually maintenance free – offering a highly attractive alternative to traditional air-cooled units. Ideal for installation in buildings in central-city areas, industrial parks or office complexes where an outdoor air-cooled unit would be architecturally obtrusive or impossible to install due to space or noise restrictions.

Controller: The Simplex D-Series Digital Controller is PLC-based, network capable, and comes with a local or remote color TFT touch-screen operator interface.
Control Power: Internal from load bus via transformer.
Coolant Options: City water (nominal 50PSI), closed loop chilled water systems, heat exchanger systems, or pumped water from natural sources (lake, river, etc.). Also can be used wth brine or sea water if ordered with optional nickel alloy construction and elements.
Coolant Pressure: Load cells are rated for operating pressures up to 180PSI. High pressure systems are available.
Coolant Flow Control: Main electrically operated valve.
Coolant Connections: 2”, 4” or 6” as required by flow.
Load Elements: Water-immersion type, screw-plug mounting.
Load Element Circuit Protection: Branch circuit fuses. One set of fuses each 50KW branch. Fuses are current limiting type, 200,000 AIC, 600V, enabling safe use on large generating or UPS system.
System Protections: Sensed at each load cell: overpressure, overtemperature, low coolant level, loss-of-flow. Lockout and alarm at control panel.
Load Connection: Main copper load bus.
Enclosure: Compact space-efficient design.
Network Capable: Multiple LBW load banks can be paralleled to achieve virtually any total capacity desired.
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA): Satisfies the requirements for emergency stand-by power systems.
